The easiest way to map TBX V3 to other formats is by just selecting the dialect an not use a mapping file. This is particularly useful when you start with a tbx file.

Converting from TBX

All fields will keep their name and values in the target. If you for example convert to Excel, the TBX field definition will go to a column called definition, etc

Converting to TBX

All fields known in the active dialect will be converted to the correct TBX field type. In Basic, for example, the Excel column definition will go into a TBX field of type descrip.

All unknown fields are converted to generic note type fields. If you use the Core dialect, all fields will become notes. If you use Min, for example partOfSpeech is converted fully, definition becomes a note.
