Some formats can only represent two languages. When you export to one of these formats, a dialog will prompt you to choose a source and target language.

In most cases, only one language pair is required. but you can use the wildcard * (asterisk) to choose all available combinations. The example in the screen shot creates all possible outputs for an English source: en_fr and en_de. If you choose the * for the source language instead, you get all pairs into the target language, e.g. fr_en and de_en. Or you can use both wildcards and create every possible combination.

Bilingual formats tend to be order-sensitive, i.e. en-fr is not the same as fr-en. Therefore you need to choose, even if your source only has two languages.

See the Program Settings for bilingual files for more options.
