Potential Problems
The import does validate the content of fields, but does not fix inconsistencies. So if your glossary contains data that is unfit for the selected field type, it will still be imported. For example, you define a termbase with two fields: a boolean Approved and a DateTime field DateApproved. Nothing stops you from creating and importing a spreadsheet like this, and converting it to a termbase with a boolean Approved and a DateTime DateApproved field:
English |
Approved |
DateApproved |
German |
Approved |
DateApproved |
Raspberry |
not yet |
yesterday |
Himbeere |
yep |
long ago |
Even though the field values do not conform to the field types, their content will still be imported. So, be careful that your data fits the defined field types. It's safest to only use a template termbase with data that has been exported from a termbase with the same definition.
